Pashupatinath Hindu Temple

We had a very interesting day today. Walked through town in a roundabout route to the Pashupatinath Hindu Temple, which is a World Heritage Area, and there has been continuous worship there for 6000 years..

There were hundreds of monkeys at the temple as the Hindu's worship and won't kill animals they seem to have free range of the place . There were 7 cremations being undertaken while we were there on the banks of the river. Quite an unusual feeling when you first experience it but with the general public and the grieving families intermingling you kind of get used to it and after a while your initial shock dissipates. The holy men were fascinating with their bright robes and painted bodies, our unholy man (Karma Woza) fitted right in, we have photographic evidence:

There was a heavy armed police presence here today not sure why but a truck load of them stopped right beside us while Costa was filming we thought oh no !!!!! when they jumped out of their truck with guns and battens but went straight past were not interested in us at all which I did not mind at all of course.
